Headings and Lists – HTML

A. Headings

Heading is one of an html element. Its use is for writing Title or Subtitle. The function is to define every part of the article (titles and subtitles), and creates a clear content hierarchy.

Heading consists of 6 levels. In order from the highest, h1. to the lowest, h6.

1. h1 (heading 1)
   Is the highest level of heading and the highest level of importance. Often used for Titles of an article or web page.
2. h2 (heading 2)
   Major section sub-headings. used to break down the main topic into sub-parts.
3. h3-h6 (heading 3, heading 4, heading 5, heading 6.)
   sub-sections and often used for more detailed explanations.
   

B. Lists

List in HTML is an element used to group and structure a set of related items on a webpage clearly and readably.

Main types of lists in HTML

1. Un-ordered List (<ul>)
   Displays items with bullet points when order does not matter. not using numbers to list items.
2. Ordered List (<ol>)
   Displays items with numbers or letters when sequence is important.
